World of Warcraft players are soliciting all references to an abuser in the Activision Blizzard lawsuit to be removed from the game.
California filed lawsuit against Activision Blizzard after it completed a two-year investigation into the “frat boy” workplace culture. However, this may not be the case. The suit lists numerous instances in which Activision Blizzard employees were accused of harassing, abusing and obstructing female employees over an extended period of time.
Alex Afrasiabi (a former World of Warcraft Creative Director) is identified in the lawsuit. Afrasiabi resigned quietly from Activision Blizzard June 2020. Afrasiabi is described in court documents as having “gotten drunk” and started hitting on female employees. The suit alleges that he tried to kiss them, and then tried to get drunk once more.
After Bill Cosby, the rapist his hotel room at BlizzCon was named the Cosby Suite.
Blizzard executives knew about Afrasiabi’s behavior, including Blizzard president J. Allen Brack, but took no effective remedial measures.”
Kotaku has revealed that Afrasiabi quit Blizzard in the year 2020 with no celebration. You can tell there was something wrong if you compare it to Jeff Kaplan who received a unique send-off when he left Blizzard in January.
Afrasiabi is getting a lot of attention from WoW players who are now putting two and two together. Afrasiabi was previously a Creative Director, and has a number of game references, including two NPCsas well as Siabi’s Premium Tobacco.
In addition to Reddit and Blizzard posts that urged Afrasiabi to search WoWplayers also started to put “go away” signs before Field Marshal Afrasiabi in Stormwind.
WoW players are also organizing an in-game protest to Oribos. The gamers of both factions will be performing sitting down in front of the restaurant.
Afrasiabi and Activision Blizzard were not charged with any of these allegations. The companyalso denies all the allegations.
